Adapted Physical educationAdapted Physical Education (APE) is a diversified program of activities specially designed for an individual who meets eligibility criteria for special education and/or related services and is not able to participate safely and/or successfully in the regular physical education program.

Frequency
- Once a week for 60 minutes (as stated on students IEP)
- Fridays 12:30 - 1:30
- Day may change as needed due to early release, workday, etc., to ensure compliance with students’ IEPs

Services |
Physical education services, specially designed if necessary, must be made available to every child with a disability receiving a Free Appropriate Public Education. The need for adapted physical education is an IEP Team decision. All EC students must minimally receive the same amount of physical education as regular education students. No student may be exempt from physical education classes due to his/her disability.
